The Good: We're alive and mostly well, with a mixed bag of news and developments [also see bad & ugly] you'll want to take note here and there as this information more than likely will affect you.

Sharpening our focus
Being realistic here, the only thing that has been developing with some sort of pace is inSIGHT. I'm not pointing fingers because we all played our parts in the lack of other things developing. To keep this boat afloat we'll be making some changes around here. The one change I will mention in this section is the focus on inSIGHT, it's been considered upon and decided that our focus will lie heavily on its cultivation, as it will become a chief recruiting tool for us.


The Bad
With the changes comes some tough decisions, we need to make sure we have a tightly ran ship once we keep it from sinking, this means lightening the load. We've looked at the roster, at steady contributors, regular [group related] forum posters, and those genuinely showing interest in group operations.

I won't speak for anyone but myself but what I notice is that there is a severe lack of contribution, part of it is indeed my error, I have far too many tasks inside and outside of the group to make sure everyone is on the same page and on task.

Deeper than that though, there isn't even much of an effort from others to find out what needs to be contributed. We have several channels of communication, so you can ask questions and make suggestions on a regular basis. Only a small number of members have taken advantage of this and a smaller number have attempted to contribute.

Whatever the reasons for this lack of participation, I'd like to think that while we're out to have fun we're taking our mission serious, and to illustrate this thought, I will have move some names around and put some projects on hold.

darkSIDE: Everything is on hold, there's a severe lack of anything worth while going on here, and not much of an effort to spark something beyond our requests. This roster has been moved to inACTIVE those who have not even posted in the forums are cut. This move is not permanent, the roster will be rebuilt as soon as conditions permit.

inVISION: Wow, this is a seriously under developed aspect of our group, I truly want this part to grow but unforunately, it's not growing and I don't have the time to nurture it. ~mistseeker I know you're often busy but if you could lend a little assisstance in managing this area and recruiting writers that will contribute, we won't have to shut this part down temporarily.

inSIGHT: as I have stated before, this part of the group in its short time of existence has bloomed nicely and well enough to put it out front, as of this posting it is our flagship feature. This means we will be doing all we can to develop inISGHT and make sure it is stable. The house of devUNIT will be built on this corner stone.

The Ugly
There is a lack of communication despite several channels. Why? This I don't know and can't pretend to know. I feel there may need to be mandatory meetings set where we'll need to make the time in our schedules to be there [if possible] there are some in other time zones that may not be able to attend, we will come up with a solution - perhaps developing an agenda so that points can be addressed via email and also providing a transcript where possible.

We need to have a core group of people that are rolling up their sleeves and digging in the dirt with us to build this thing. If you've been cut or moved to inACTIVE, come back when you have your tool belt and hard hat and are ready to get on the grind.

Recruiting I hardly address this but it is time that I do so. As of now our main focus is finding a full time coder to develop our site. All other aspects of member recruiting is on hold until we secure at least one full time coder.

Note: You can contribute to inVISION and be moved from inACTIVE to active but participation is a must and a lack there of after your roster move will result in a cut.
